First – It’s all about the animals.
Quality of life matters to everyone. Animals too. It is core to our philosophy that great food has to come from great beginnings. The Angus and Hereford beeves that we raise are perfectly matched to their environment. They are carefully nurtured on nutrient-rich grass covered fields and mineral-rich water that the Finger Lakes are famous for. Our numerous animal welfare certifications and involvement in New York State’s Beef Quality Assurance Programs are also a testament to our dedication. To this end, the Rosenkrans family and team works tirelessly to manage and preserve the surrounding land and waterways. When it comes to our partners who provide our pork and poultry, we expect no less.
Second – You’re only as good as your weakest link.
So we strive to not have one. We (and our partners) can grow the best of the best but a marginal butcher, packer or shipper can leave you serving your family something less than stellar. From the farm to the butcher to your doorstep - we “own it”. Literally and figuratively. This ensures that the care we take on the farm comes through to your table. We have our own aging and cutting facility. Meat is aged until it is perfectly tender and then cut to order and vacuum sealed by our expert butchers. Using our own trucks, the fresh ultra-premium cuts are then shipped quickly to your doorstep.
Finally – It’s our passion that sets us apart.
The Rosenkrans story isn’t a long one. We're second generation farmers (the third is up & coming!) who feel the call of the land. We’ve loved farming from before we can remember. We grew up used to having baby cows in the house when they needed special care and took to playing with toy tractors in jeans and boots before we rode our first bicycles. At the family dinner table, we realized early on that the beef we ate from the farm was exceptional. We decided to do the research, the hard work and to take the leap that would allow us to grow to a point where everyone else can enjoy it too.
We are fanatical about small family farms and how fresh local food is critical to people’s health and to that of the country as a whole. Again, we seek out partners who are as passionate about this as we are. We will always be true to this core value. When our family comes together we want to experience great food and the love and conversation that comes with it. It’s our pleasure, no, it’s our passion to offer the same to you. Cheers!
